Yard Access
Locked gates must remain unlocked for the full day of your scheduled service. If you prefer to leave your gate locked, we recommend that you use a combination lock and provide us with the password or combination. If, on the day of service, your gate is locked and we have not been provided the combination, we will be unable to send the crew back or issue a credit for not mowing inside the locked fenced area. Our crew is only in the area of your home on the specific day that we service your lawn. Any request for the crew to return at any other time to mow an area that we did not have access to, will result in an additional charge.
Scheduling & Delays
Isaiah 556 Lawn Care will provide the service that you request in a timely fashion on a regular schedule. We operate our mowing service on a route basis, starting at the top of our route list on Monday and working through the route until the end of the week, grouping customers together based on geographical location. Extra services will be performed as time allows, sometimes during the mowing visit, sometimes at the end of the week. We will attempt to schedule you for service in approximately the same two-day time frame every week. However, sometimes unforeseen circumstances arise that may delay your weekly service (i.e. - adverse weather conditions, equipment malfunctions, etc.) When we miss a scheduled day, for any reason, we pick up where we left off. If we miss a day earlier in the week, then we may be late getting to your lawn, even later in the week. We do schedule make up days every week, so please be patient. Please understand that we cannot and do not mow in the rain. Please do not water your lawn the day that you are scheduled, as this may contribute to difficult mowing conditions, and prevent a quality mowing.
Minimum Charge
Isaiah 556 Lawn Care requires a minimum charge of 2 cuts per month for all customers. Isaiah 556 Lawn Care is a route-based, weekly lawn service. As a requirement of service, you must maintain a minimum of 2 cuts per month, from May through October. If your lawn does not meet that minimum, you will be charged for those cuts regardless. However, you may substitute other services, either during that period of time or later in the season, to meet that minimum charge. (I556LC is a weekly service, and during normal growing conditions I556LC will service your lawn on a weekly basis) For more information, feel free to contact I556LC. This minimum charge applies to all customers.
Lot Size
Our service pricing is based on the size (gross square feet) of your lot. If you're not sure what your lot size is, please contact us & we'll give you the exact sq ft! Or feel free to click this link for Montgomery County residents. Large lots, lots with steep areas, multiple levels, etc. require a custom quote. Lots with swimming pools are not discounted. With a swimming pool the amount of mowing is decreased, however, more string trimming (weed-eating) and special care must be taken in order to keep grass clippings out of the pool as much as possible.
Grass Length
Your lawn estimate is good for up to 5 inches of grass length. If your lawn is growing more than 5 inches between mowings we may have to increase the frequency of mowing to compensate. Excess grass length adversely affects our equipment, and the quality of the cut. We reserve the right to refuse new service and/or one-time lawn mowing service of grass with excess length. Industry accepted mowing standards, which we adhere to, recommend only cutting 1/3 of the grass height each mowing. Bi-weekly service inherently causes problems such as clumps of grass or grass appearing to be cut unevenly. If these results happen, we will not be able to send the crew back to correct these issues or guarantee these services, as we do on weekly to 10 day services. I556LC, as is our standard, multiple stripe & checker once. If at this point, the thatch(clippings) are still too thick, bagging will be necessary or, if left alone, will kill off all the grass under it & also make a nice home for rodents to escape the summer sun. Rodents attract many, many snakes, as they move about looking for food. Help us keep the rodents & snakes away from the homes, where they belong, by sticking to a weekly to 10 day service.
Property Damage
Please contact I556LC immediately if there is any property that is damaged by our crew. The most common damage is a sprinkler head, drain cap, or valve cover. Most of the time our crew is aware of these damages, and will place a flag at the damaged sprinkler head so our repair crew can locate and fix the damage. Please leave these flags in the yard, our repair crew will remove it upon completion. If there is not a flag identifying the damage, our crew was not aware of it. Please notify us immediately. Upon your notification, we will repair the damage in a timely manner. ***We will not honor any request for repair expenses for damaged property that we were not made aware of or allowed to repair in a timely manner.*** If we are unable to repair the damage we will hire a qualified person to make the repairs.
String Trimmer Marks, Scars & Damage
Our crew uses string trimmers. String trimmers (weed-eaters/weed-wackers) can cause marks, scars, and damage to objects. While our operators use as much care as possible, the line trimmers rotate a line at up to 14,000 rpm. Use of line trimmers around trees, wood fence post and fencing, children’s play sets, corrugated downspout extensions, etc. can leave marks, scars or damage to the item. It is the homeowner’s responsibility to protect these items from receiving line damage. There are tree protectors sold at Home Depot, Lowe’s, Amazon, and other retailers. We highly recommend either having a tree ring with border and mulch around a tree, or the use of tree protectors.
Trampoline & Children's Play-Set
Due to liability reasons, our crew is not permitted to move trampolines or children’s play-sets. If you have a trampoline, our crew will mow around and under it as much as possible, but they will not move the trampoline or children play-sets.
Collection & Bagging
Normally, I556LC will recycle lawn clippings through mulching. However, during some times of the year growth may be greater than normal. At these times, when the grass is wet and growing fast I556LC will make the judgment call of collecting and bagging the grass clippings instead of leaving them in the yard. Long, wet, clumped grass clippings does much damage to the grass underneath and leaves the lawn looking horrible, below the standards I556LC tries to uphold. When necessary, excess grass clippings will be bagged in waste recycling bags and left for your city pickup (See "Cleanup" below for more details). Additional charges will be applied for collecting, raking, bagging and disposal of clippings.
Clean Up
After all services are completed we will perform a clean up. Stray grass clippings will be blown from walks and porches, as well as any light clippings left on the lawn. Excessive waste will be bagged in waste recycling bags and left for your weekly city pickup. Removal of bagged yard waste is available, at a rate of $3 per bag.
Pet Owners
Pet owners, please pick up after your animals. Cleaning animal waste off our equipment is not a favorite chore for us. Excessive animal waste may result in additional charges, or discontinuation of service. If at all possible, please place your pet inside when we arrive to mow. If you can't be there during your scheduled service days, try to leave your pet inside. Your animal might be a great pet, but all the noise and the chaos from the lawn machines can turn the most benevolent pet into a malicious attack dog. Please let us know if you have any pets that are kept outside. Our crew will make every effort to not let your pet through the gate, but we cannot guarantee your pet will not escape. Again, please leave your pet inside on your scheduled service day. Please pick up all pet droppings, toys (pet & children’s), bones, large rocks, etc. the day prior to your scheduled service. These items are very hazardous if hit by the mower blades and can result in serious damage to your property and our equipment, or serious injury to our crew or others.
Dry Weather
During the hot, arid summer months, the lawns in the area tend to dry up and stop growing. During this period, Isaiah 556 Lawn Care will do its best to determine whether or not your lawn needs mowing. A dry or burned lawn is best left alone until it acclimates to or recovers from the weather. If your lawn has not grown and/or is very dry, we have no problem skipping that week's mowing, or skipping mowing until the lawn picks up again. However, sometimes that is a borderline decision. With many customers per week, each customer with their own opinions of their lawn, it is often difficult to guess each customer's preference. If you feel that the lawn does not need mowing because of the dry weather, please call at least one day prior to your scheduled mowing to let us know. If we skip your mowing in a dry week and you would still like it done, give us a call and we will come back to mow your lawn. The 2 cuts per month minimum still applies through dry weather. We recommend that you water your lawn & plants either in the early morning or evening, when the sun is lower & will not burn the yard further.
Call-Offs
If for some reason during the season you feel that your lawn does not need service, you must notify us at least 2 days ahead of your scheduled weekly mowing, either via voice mail, email or phone/text or Facebook messaging. We understand that occasional call-offs happen. However, I556LC is a weekly service, and excessive call-offs (more than 3 per season) may cause cancellation of service. Also, if you are having work done to your house or in your yard that will interfere with your lawn service, please notify us ahead of time. The 2 cuts per month minimum still applies to call-offs.
Fall Leaf Coverage
Once leaves begin to come down in the fall, unless we are otherwise notified at least one day prior to your weekly scheduled mowing, you will be charged for any blowing of leaves that may be necessary in order for us to mow your lawn. This will only apply to substantial leaf covering that prevents us from mowing. If you request our Mulch Mowing, please understand that there will be some residual "spray" of leaves that escape our decks to be mulched. We do offer a Lawn Vacuum Service for those who would benefit from the effects of a high yield tree property. Please contact us to learn more.
Recurring Route Work
The majority of I556LC work is recurring, regular scheduled work. Some of you prepay these services. For services like snow clearing, some of you pay early deposits. For ALL recurring scheduled work, the general rule of thumb is you must give I556LC every opportunity to perform the work for you. Persistent call-offs, performing the work before us, or employing others to do the work before I556LC can execute the scheduled work. Please, give us the opportunity to perform the work you've hired us for (and often already paid us for). Customers who don't may find themselves off the schedule.
Billing & Payment
I556LC prefers cash, and checks for payment. We also offer PayPal, Stripe for debit/credit cards & parenthetically, I556LC will bill you monthly via statement. Most of our customers do not care for a receipt, per se, but for those who do, this same monthly statement will apply to those. If the balance is $0, all of the work & dates to coincide with said work under "PAID". For all others that choose an invoice system, we send you an invoice at the end of the month, for all of the work completed that month. All of the work that was completed, as well as the date it was completed, and price for each service are detailed on your monthly invoice. We ask that you pay the invoice upon receipt, but a 15 day grace period is furnished. Accounts not paid within two(2) weeks will be assessed a late charge. A $25 service charge will be applied to late payments, and also a $30 returned check fee on returned checks. Accounts that are not paid by the end of the month will be suspended until payment in full is received. Accounts that are excessively overdue may be required to pay a one-month deposit in order to resume service. Deposits will be applied to the final statement of the season.
Complaints
Our goal is total, 100% customer satisfaction! If our work is not satisfactory, or you think we did not service your yard properly, we do not give credits. However, we will re-send the crew to re-mow your yard without additional charge. The re-mow will be done either on the same day (time permitting) or the next business day. Your notification of unsatisfactory service must be received within 24-hours of the service. If you do not notify us within 24-hours of the service, we will consider the work satisfactory for the scheduled service. Please contact us by telephone (540-238-1123), or email us at isaiah556ministries@gmail.com.
Service Cancellations
Our goal is total, 100% customer satisfaction. You may cancel your service at any time. Neither party is obligated to continue service. Should you cancel your service prior to the 5 service minimum, you will be charged a $50 early termination fee.
